GCSE Results Day: Trust celebrates success at Thorns Collegiate Academy, Shireland Biomedical UTC and Shireland Collegiate Academy

Students across our academies are celebrating today after receiving their much-anticipated GCSE results today, opening doors to their chosen A level courses at sixth form, college, or apprenticeships as they get ready to take the next steps in their education journeys.

Staff, students, and families have come together to celebrate and mark the achievements of all students, who have worked incredibly hard to secure their final grades.

 

Shireland Collegiate Academy

Overall, 63% of students achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, with Grade 4 set by the government as a pass, with 16% of students having achieved the top Grade 9-7.

100% of year 11 students have all studied at least 9 GCSE or BTEC subjects from a broad range of subject areas.

Last week, students at the Academy also celebrated a successful year with 93% of A level students having achieved three or more A level passes at grades A*-E. 62% of these accomplished three or more passes at grades A-C. 99% of BTEC students achieved qualification equivalent to three or more A level passes at grades A*-E, with T levels achieving an average grade of Distinction*.

 

 

Shireland Biomedical UTC

42.2% of students overall achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, with Grade 4 set by the government as a pass, with 4.4% of students having achieved the top Grade 9-7.

35 year 11 students have all studied at least 8 GCSE or BTEC subjects from a broad range of 11 subject areas.

Performances were particularly strong in Health and Social Care, Maths and Physics.

Last week, students at the Academy also celebrated a successful year with 83% of A level students having achieved three or more A level passes at grades A*-E, including 96% of BTEC students achieving qualifications equivalent to three or more A level passes at grades A*-E. This means that students at Shireland Biomedical UTC secured an overall average grade of Distinction.

 

Thorns Collegiate Academy

Over at Thorns, 92% of students achieved 5 or more GCSE, or equivalent, passes. The percentage of students achieving a Grade 5 or above in both English and Maths has increased again this year, with Grade 5 set by the government as a strong pass.

In English, just under a quarter of our students achieved grades 7 to 9, which was the highest in the academy’s history.
