Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust is committed to providing a caring, friendly, and safe environment for all students so that they can learn in a secure and enclosed atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable in our Academies. If bullying does occur, all students should feel able to tell staff and should be confident that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively.

Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust and its schools strive to ensure that all children feel safe when with us. We believe that success is possible for every child, working with the strengths of each individual child to ensure that they achieve to the best of their abilities. Around 41,000 children are bereaved of a parent every year in the UK. That’s nearly two children under 16 every hour. Many more are bereaved of a grandparent, sibling, friend or other significant person.

This procedure applies only to teachers about whose performance there are serious concerns that the appraisal process has been unable to address. Capability concerns about NQT’s will normally be dealt with under the Induction procedures, however in the most severe cases the Principal may instigate Capability procedures at any stage which may lead to dismissal before the end of the induction period. The induction process will continue during this period.

The Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust must as part of its financial and management responsibilities establish a register of interest. This will be kept up to date through regular review. This register must capture relevant business and pecuniary interests of Members, Trustees, members of the Standards and Performance Committee, senior staff and staff with financial responsibility or influence as a minimum.

As an organisation assessing applicants’ suitability for positions which are included in the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order using criminal record checks processed through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust complies fully with the code of practice and undertakes to treat all applicants for positions fairly.

The Trust’s executive pay policy is designed to attract and retain high quality senior leaders whilst ensuring compliance with the Academies Financial Handbook. It provides for a remuneration package, which reflects the Trust’s educational outcomes and performance against stretching educational targets, operational and financial objectives.

Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust aims to be an honest and ethical institution. As such, it is opposed to fraud and corruption and seeks to eliminate fraud by the way it conducts Trust business.
