Shireland Collegiate Academy was delighted to host the LearnED 2024: Education in Action Conference in partnership with the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA). The Academy welcomed educators, school leaders and industry experts for a day of insightful discussions, practical workshops and networking opportunities.
The LearnED Conferences, organised by BESA, are renowned for their commitment to empowering educational leaders from schools and multi-academy trusts. Designed as an in-person event, the conference fosters collaboration, inspires innovation and showcases best practices aimed at improving school outcomes.
A trade association for the UK’s world-leading education suppliers with over 80 years of experience, BESA offers unparalleled support and guidance for its members, driving excellence in the educational resources sector.
Attendees were immersed in a robust agenda featuring an array of keynote presentations, roundtable discussions, practical CPD masterclasses and interactive sessions spotlighting educational resources.
The conference also included opportunities to engage and network with leading industry experts, connect with peers in the education community and explore innovative solutions to common challenges.

Concluding the event was the unveiling of the Department for Education (DfE) funded PEIA Project in Sandwell, of which Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust proudly launched the English strand of the project.
Offering a variety of free opportunities and resources for schools in the area, including specialist talks and high-quality CPD sessions facilitated by leading Literacy and English Experts, this initiative aims to facilitate and enable children’s teaching and learning progress.
