Shireland CBSO Academy Awarded Sandwell Inclusion Quality Mark

Shireland CBSO Academy is delighted to announce it has been awarded the prestigious Sandwell Inclusion Quality Mark for Cognition and Learning (SIQM-CL). This recognition reflects the school’s unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where every pupil, including those with cognition and learning needs, can thrive.

The SIQM-CL aligns with Sandwell’s Vision 2030, which aspires to build a resilient and inclusive community where everyone feels valued and supported. As part of the rigorous assessment, Sandwell’s Inclusive Learning Services (ILS) reviewed the Academy’s practices. The assessment included classroom observations, discussions with students, parents and staff and evidence gathering in areas including teaching quality, staff development and partnerships.

Laura Chamberlain, Assistant Principal and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator at Shireland CBSO Academy, said: “We are incredibly proud to receive this award, which acknowledges our dedication to ensuring that every child that walks through our doors feels supports, cared for and empowered to succeed.

“At Shireland CBSO Academy, inclusion isn’t just something we strive for – it’s at the heart of everything we do. This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our staff, students and families working together to achieve great outcomes for all.”

Achieving the SIQM-CL reflects the Academy’s vision of an education system where no child is left behind, and every learner is given the tools to reach their full potential. Shireland CBSO Academy looks forward to building on this success and continuing to set a standard for inclusive education, making a lasting difference in the lives of its pupils and the wider community.
