Sixth Form students at Shireland Biomedical UTC in West Bromwich are marking a poignant milestone today as they receive their long-awaited A level results, which will open the door to exciting opportunities in higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.
Throughout the day, families, staff, and the wider school community have come together to recognise the hard work, dedication and resilience that students have shown throughout their studies.
Gulfam Shahzad, Principal at Shireland Biomedical UTC, said: “We’re incredibly proud to celebrate our students’ achievements this results day. Their dedication and commitment have been inspiring, and it’s been a privilege to support them throughout their journey.
“On behalf of everyone at Shireland Biomedical UTC, I’d like to congratulate all our students and wish them the best as they take their next steps. I also want to thank our dedicated staff, whose efforts have not only helped students succeed academically but also shaped them into confident young adults.”
Performances have been strong across a wide range of subjects, with notable successes in Applied Sciences, Biology and Health and Social Care. In its applied courses, the Academy saw students maintain an average grade of Distinction, which is above the national average of Merit, highlighting the aspirations and commitment of its students.
Sir Mark Grundy, CEO of Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, added: “Congratulations to all our students at Shireland Biomedical UTC. These results are a reflection of their hard work, perseverance, and the support of our dedicated staff and their families.
“As a Trust, our goal is to ensure that every young person leaves our schools not only with strong academic results but with the skills, confidence, and ambition to succeed in whatever they choose to do next. We are excited to see what our students go on to achieve in the future and wish them every happiness.”
