Pupils at Wallbrook Primary Academy were encouraged to think about their aspirations and personal goals after welcoming BoxClever Mentoring for an assembly focused on resilience, ambition and the benefits of mentoring through sport.
During the session, BoxClever mentors Craig and Cole shared their personal journeys, explaining what inspired them to support young people through mentoring and non-contact boxing. Their stories encouraged pupils to reflect on the importance of perseverance, self-belief and making positive choices.
Children also had the opportunity to take part in a practical boxing session, where they experienced how the sport can support skills such as focus, discipline and teamwork.
The visit formed part of the Academy’s ongoing collaboration with BoxClever Mentoring, which has delivered non-contact boxing physical education sessions for pupils across every year group throughout the academic year.
Through its mentoring and wellbeing programmes, BoxClever Mentoring uses non-contact boxing to engage children and young people, helping them develop confidence, emotional resilience and positive behaviours.
Craig and Cole’s visit provided pupils with the opportunity to hear directly from role models who demonstrated how dedication and a positive mindset can help overcome challenges and create opportunities for the future.
School Principal, Lorna McGregor, said: “We want every child at Wallbrook to believe in themselves and recognise their own potential. Experiences like this give our pupils the chance to meet positive role models, learn from their journeys and see what can be achieved through hard work and determination.
“We have really valued working with BoxClever Mentoring this year and have seen the positive impact their sessions have had on our children’s confidence and enthusiasm.”
The collaboration reflects Wallbrook Primary Academy’s commitment to providing experiences that enrich pupils’ learning, support their wellbeing and help them develop skills for life beyond the classroom.
