Academy Hosts Halesowen Cross Country 2025

Newfield Park Primary Academy proudly hosted the annual Halesowen Cross Country event in October, welcoming 200 pupils from ten local primary schools for an afternoon of friendly competition and community spirit.

Now in its 15th year, the event continues to inspire young runners from across the area. The 2km course, which includes a popular woodland section, offers and exciting challenge for all who take part.

Newfield Park’s girls’ team performed especially well, finishing joint first, with several pupils securing places in the top ten. Every participant successfully completed the route, cheered on by family, friends and staff along the way.

The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was lively. The event concluded with a presentation of trophies, medals and a team shield, celebrating not only sporting success but also teamwork and resilience.

Principal, Steve Payne, said: “Our pupils showed fantastic determination and teamwork at this year’s cross country. It’s wonderful to see everyone supporting each other and enjoying the event together – these are moments that make our school community so special.”

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all staff, families and volunteers who helped make the day such a success.
