Lightwoods pupil Ishver helped support his classmates’ end-of-year celebrations after completing a 5km fundraising run to raise money towards their Year 6 prom.
Taking on the challenge in June earlier this year, Ishver completed just over 5km in under an hour despite the hot weather, raising a total of £115 for the event.
The Year 6 prom is a special milestone in pupils’ primary school journey, providing an opportunity for them to celebrate their friendships, achievements and memories before moving on to secondary school. Ishver’s fundraising will help contribute towards creating a memorable occasion for his peers to enjoy.
School Principal, John Ashton, said: “Ishver’s achievement is a wonderful example of the kindness and community spirit we hope to nurture in all our pupils. He saw an opportunity to do something positive for others and showed real determination in seeing his challenge through. It is incredibly rewarding to see pupils take pride in supporting their classmates and making a difference in their own way.”
