Wallbrook Primary Academy celebrates national recognition for school attendance

Wallbrook Primary Academy in Coseley has received a National School Attendance Award after being recognised among the top 25% of the most improved Fisher Family Trust (FFT) Education primary schools for attendance in England.

The award, presented by FFT Education, recognises the Academy’s improvement in attendance and celebrates the collective efforts of pupils, families and staff in helping children make the most of their time at school.

Regular school attendance gives children valuable opportunities to learn, build friendships and develop confidence. At Wallbrook Primary Academy, the achievement reflects the importance of working in partnership with families and creating an environment in which every child feels welcome, supported and able to thrive.

School Principal, Lorna McGregor, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to receive this award. It means a great deal to see the efforts of our whole school community recognised in this way. There’s so much that goes into making a school a place where children feel happy, included and excited to learn, and we’re proud of the part our pupils, families and staff play in that every day.

“We want every child to feel that Wallbrook is a place where they belong and where they can be themselves, build confidence and discover what they’re capable of. This award is a lovely opportunity to celebrate that shared commitment and thank everyone who helps make our school such a special place to be.”

The achievement follows the Academy’s recent receipt of the Inclusive Attendance Bronze Award, which recognises its inclusive approach to attendance practices and its commitment to ensuring pupils and families receive appropriate support.

FFT Education is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2001. It provides educational data and literacy programmes to help schools improve outcomes for pupils. Its National School Attendance Awards recognise schools that have made significant progress in attendance.

The award offers an opportunity for Wallbrook Primary Academy to celebrate the contribution of its pupils, families and staff, and the shared role they play in helping every child benefit from their education.
