Qamar Riaz

Qamar Riaz is Chief Executive Officer of Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust. His relationship with Shireland began in 2006, at the start of his career within the academy sector.

An experienced and values-driven educational leader, Qamar has served as a secondary headteacher on three occasions and, most recently, held a trust-wide school improvement role. He also brings experience as an academy trustee, governor and member.

Qamar is passionate about social mobility, inclusive education, leadership development and the thoughtful use of technology. His leadership is grounded in a clear belief that education should expand what is possible for every child, regardless of their background or starting point.
