Before joining Wallbrook Primary Academy, Sian was Vice Principal at Our Lady and St Hubert’s Catholic Primary School in Oldbury. Throughout her career, she has held a number of leadership and specialist roles, supporting schools and teachers across the West Midlands.

Sian is a former Specialist Leader in Education, specialising in Maths and English, and has worked with a range of schools to support improvement. She has also served as an NCETM Professional Development Lead, leading work on Mastery Maths and the effective use of manipulatives while providing professional learning for schools across the region.

Her career achievements include leading in two primary schools that achieved Outstanding judgements under the previous Ofsted framework. As a Curriculum Development Officer for Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, she also worked alongside a team of leaders to develop and write the primary E3L curriculum.

Sian holds a PGCE in Primary Education from the University of Wolverhampton and a BA (Hons) in English and American Literature from the University of Birmingham.

Her decision to become an educator was inspired by teachers she encountered at secondary school, who showed her that education can make a real difference to the direction of a child’s life. She remains passionate about working in primary schools serving communities affected by deprivation and believes strongly in removing barriers so that every child can achieve their potential, access further education and build a successful future.

At Wallbrook Primary Academy, Sian is committed to ensuring that every child receives the support and opportunities they need to succeed. She strives to achieve this through high-quality teaching, removing barriers to learning and providing targeted support that enables every pupil to make progress and fulfil their potential.

Outside of school, Sian enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters. She also enjoys travelling, good food and making memories with her family.
