It’s a day of celebration across Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust as students at Shireland Collegiate Academy, West Bromwich Collegiate Academy and Thorns Collegiate Academy receive their GCSE results and discover where their hard work will take them next.
From sixth form and college to apprenticeships and further study, students are now looking ahead to their next chapter, with many securing the grades they need to pursue their chosen pathways.
Behind every result is a story of hard work, determination and achievement. Today, students, families and staff have come together across our academies to celebrate their successes and recognise the dedication that has made them possible.

While their grades are an important part of today, I hope they also recognise the confident, ambitious and independent young people they have become.
“Our students are encouraged to set high expectations for themselves, embrace opportunities and remain curious about what they can achieve. It’s been a privilege to support them during their time with us, and I would like to congratulate all of our students on their GCSE results and wish them every success for the future. I would also like to thank our staff and families for the support they have provided throughout.”

Today is an opportunity to recognise not only the results you have achieved, but the ambition, character and determination you have shown throughout your time at the Academy. As you move forward, remember that your success is shaped by much more than qualifications alone. The skills, values and experiences you have developed will help you navigate new opportunities and overcome challenges as you continue to grow.
“On behalf of everyone at the Trust, I wish you every happiness and success for the future and look forward to seeing the achievements you will go on to make.”
GCSE subjects are marked under a 1-9 grading system, with 9 being the highest grade. GCSEs are linear in structure rather than modular, with all exams taken at the end of a two-year course.
